CYBERSECURITY
ARCHITECT
Are you ready to become a cybersecurity architect?
By this stage, you should already have quite a broad knowledge about cybersecurity and Microsoft Azure. This course builds on those skills and helps you become a trustworthy and skilful Azure cybersecurity architect.
But what is a Cybersecurity Architect? That’s a great question, and down below you will find the answer.
What is a Cybersecurity Architect?Cybersecurity Architects are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the security functions of an organization’s IT environment. Security architects help translate an organization’s business and assurance goals into a security vision, providing documentation and diagrams to guide technical security decisions.
They are responsible for ensuring that the information security requirements necessary to protect the organization’s core missions and business processes are adequately addressed in all aspects of enterprise architecture, including reference models, segment and solution architectures, and the resulting information systems supporting those missions and business processes.
A cybersecurity architect isn’t a lone wolf, though. They continuously collaborate with leaders and practitioners in IT security, privacy, and other roles across an organization to plan and implement a cybersecurity strategy that meets the shared business needs of an organization.
Coding skills or technical IT experience is not required on this course. However, having general IT knowledge will help you get the most from your learning experience. It is recommended that you complete the Elements of Cloud and Cybersecurity course offered via Microsoft Skills for Jobs before taking on this course.
THE COURSE CONSISTS OF FIVE UNITS
It is recommended to complete the sections in order, starting from the first one.
The scope of this course is two European study credits (2 ECTS), and a pass/fail grading system is used. You must complete every assignment in order to pass the course. You can advance at your own pace and move around the course platform as you go – take your time to review from time to time and get the most out of your studies. Once you’ve completed the course, you’ll also receive shareable badge to show of your new skills.
The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a tool of the European Higher Education Area for making studies and courses more transparent. It helps students to move between countries and to have their academic qualifications and study periods abroad recognised. ECTS allows credits taken at one higher education institution to be counted towards a qualification studied for at another. ECTS credits represent learning based on defined learning outcomes and their associated workload.
ECTS enhances the flexibility of study programmes for students. It also supports the planning, delivery and evaluation of higher education programmes. It is a central tool in the Bologna Process, which aims to make national education systems more comparable internationally. ECTS also helps make other documents, such as the Diploma Supplement, clearer and easier to use in different countries. ECTS has been adopted by most of the countries in the European Higher Education Area as the national credit system and is increasingly used elsewhere.
